trees *are* alive. they're simply not animals- animals have blood, flesh, and bones. insects are also alive and have hemolymph, striated muscles, and chitin... amoebas are also alive and have no such things at all. ...in contrast, trees have chlorophyll, sap, bark, sapwood, and heartwood.
just because a thing is different, does not mean its life is not equally valid.
